Naphtali had amethyst, and the color of his banner was like clear wine, not too dark, and it depicted a doe, as it says (Genesis 49:21): 'Naphtali is a hind let loose.' Asher had beryl, and the color of his banner was like a precious stone with which women adorn themselves, and it depicted an olive tree, as it says (Genesis 49:20): 'Out of Asher his bread shall be fat.' Joseph had onyx, and the color of his banner was very black, and it depicted two princes Ephraim and Manasseh, Egypt, as their generations were in Egypt. On Ephraim's banner was depicted an ox, as it says (Deuteronomy 33:17): 'His glory is like the firstling of his bullock,' this is Joshua who was from the tribe of Ephraim, and on the banner of the tribe of Manasseh was depicted a unicorn, as it says (Deuteronomy 33:17): 'and his horns are like the horns of unicorns,' on behalf of Gideon the son of Joash who was from the tribe of Manasseh. Benjamin had jasper, and the color of his banner was like all twelve colors, and it depicted a wolf, as it says (Genesis 49:27): 'Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf.' Therefore, it is said in the signs that there were symbols for them for every prince and prince.

The appearance of the table and the menorah in the three religions

A few points for reflection regarding the division into tribes:

There is a model in the Tabernacle that the sages of Israel adopted: the Menorah stood in the south, and the Table stood in the north. As they said:“One who wishes to become wise should turn south; one who wishes to become wealthy should turn north.”

The full meaning of this expression can be learned from the tribal division.

When the northernmost tribe is identified with secular Christianity — or, in our time, mainly with the United States — that is where the Table appears in its purest form. And when the southernmost tribe is identified specifically with religious Judaism, that is where we are likely to find wisdom in its purest form.

What does this mean in practice?

For example, if I was born in the month of Adar, which belongs to Area 12 — and I was in fact born in Adar — then if I wish to earn a livelihood, I will need to move somewhat northward, in one way or another; that is, to be connected with Area 11. And if I wish to grow in wisdom, I will need to be connected with Area 1, which is further south.

The Three Religions — a summary of religious identity and its meaning in the Land of the World wide:

1. Muslims should study until midday, and work from midday until the beginning of the night.

2. Christians should study from midday until the beginning of the night, and work from the beginning of the day until midday.

3. Jews should work from sunrise until sunset, but not beyond the beginning of the night; and they should study from midnight until dawn/sunrise.

4. Prophets / madmen, sons and daughters, should study throughout the entire twenty-four-hour cycle. If they are able, they should also teach. They may also work if they truly want to — but they are not obligated to do so.
