Communal prayer

Zohar, Portion Ekev:

"At the time when those blessings descend, they are crowned within the holy field of apple trees, and encounter several levels of appointed ones in the world, and descend with them, saying and proclaiming: This is the gift that so-and-so sent to the Holy Blessed One. From where do they descend? After descending from the place of one head of the righteous, there they ascend, are aroused to bring down others from above, and are filled from above and below. This is what is written (Proverbs 10), 'Blessings are on the head of the righteous.' As soon as this level is filled, it overflows to this bride, and from there they flow and are drawn down."

Sometimes our blessings are not worth much without the discernment and perception found in the people of Israel, generally, and specifically in people of stature, who have the power and merit of the community to see, understand, and elevate the words that are sometimes spoken without full attention and understanding, but with utmost simplicity and straightforwardness.
